In a recent trip to the wildlife refugee I happened upon a couple of the custom LDFR units that run of a single recorder board ( direct motherboard circuit ? ), 4 AA's and a mono mic setup. going to research it a bit more and see what the build is composed of on a deeper level, I may reach out to the state and find out about their system.

Here is a pic I took of it.
